29 Movies to Watch When Scary Movies are Too Scary But You Love Halloween

If you’re like me, you probably hate horror movies and want to cry whenever your friends mention anything the slightest bit scary. Halloweens are usually spent indoors, covered with blankets and surrounded by candy that could’ve been for trick-or-treaters but has been put to better, more selfish use. This list has become my best friend over the years.

  1. The Nightmare before Christmas (duh!)
  2. Hocus Pocus
  3. Halloweentown
  4. Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge
  5. Halloweentown High
  6. Return to Halloweentown
  7. Twitches
  8. Twitches Too
  9. Corpse Bride
  10. Spooky Buddies (It’s Halloween plus puppies, a truly amazing concept.)
  11. Frakenweenie
  12. Beetlejuice (If you think his name three times, does it count?)
  13. Casper
  14. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone
  15. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
  16. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
  17. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
  18. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
  19. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
  20. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1
  21. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2
  22. Ghostbusters
  23. ParaNorman
  24. The Addams Family
  25. Addams Family Values
  26. Matilda (Not really a Halloween movie but a total classic with magic!)
  27. Teen Witch
  28. Monster House
  29. Alice in Wonderland (It’s not necessarily a Halloween movie but Tim Burton did an amazing job in making it creepy.)

Happy Halloween! Keep your spirits up!
